DeKalb Masonic Temple

The DeKalb Masonic Temple is the meeting place for many of DeKalb and Sycamore’s Masonic Bodies, including:

  • DeKalb Lodge No. 144 AF & AM
  • DeKalb Chapter No. 52 RAM
  • Sycamore Commandery No. 15 KT

The Temple is located at the corner of Fairview Drive and S. 4th Street (or Rt. 23) in DeKalb. The Temple is near the I-88/Ronald Reagan Expressway, on the south side of DeKalb. Here’s some convenient directions:

From the East
If you are coming in on I-88, exit at Peace Road (there’s a toll there) and then turn right at the light at the top of the ramp (on Peace Road). Go to the next stoplight (maybe an eighth of a mile) and turn left onto Fairview Drive. Keep going about a half mile or so. You’ll see the Temple building on your left as you approach the stoplight (which is S. 4th Street).

If you are coming from the east on Rt. 64 (North Avenue or Lincoln Highway), as you come into DeKalb, turn left onto Peace Road. Continue about a mile or two and turn right at the second stoplight, onto Fairview Drive. Keep going about a half mile or so. You’ll see the Temple building on your left as you approach the stoplight (which is S. 4th Street).

From the West
If you’re coming into the area on I-88, exit at Annie Glidden Road. Right after the ramp, turn right onto Fairview Drive. Continue about a mile or so. You’ll cross through a stoplight at the intesection of S. 4th street and see the Temple building on your right as you pass through the intersection.

If you’re on Rt. 64 (Lincoln Highway), come into DeKalb and turn right onto Annie Glidden Road. Continue a mile or two and then turn left onto Fairview Drive. Continue about a mile or so. You’ll cross through a stoplight at the intesection of S. 4th street and see the Temple building on your right as you pass through the intersection.

From the North (like Sycamore)
You have a couple of options for getting to the DeKalb Temple from the north. If you find yourself on Peace Road traveling south, continue on this, passing through the intersection of Peace Road and Rt. 64/Lincoln Highway. Continue about a mile or two and turn right at the second stoplight, onto Fairview Drive. Keep going about a half mile or so. You’ll see the Temple building on your left as you approach the stoplight (which is S. 4th Street).

If you’re on Rt. 23 or S. 4th Street in DeKalb traveling south, continue past Sullvan’s Foods, the DeKalb High School and the Athletic Building. At the stoplight at Fairview Drive, turn left. The Temple building is on your right as soon as you turn onto Fairview.

From the South
Rt. 23 (S. 4th Street) is really the main road into DeKalb from the South. Lucky for you, the Temple is located at the corner of Rt. 23 and Fairview Drive. As soon as you pass I-88//Ronald Reagan Expressway on Rt. 23 and pass the Brad Manning Ford dealership, turn right at the stoplight at Fairview Drive. The Temple building is on your right as soon as you turn onto Fairview.
