Think Commandery is all marching around and fluffy hats? Oh, how mistaken you are.
This Saturday — for the first time in probably as long as anyone can remember — Sycamore Commandery No. 15 of Knights Templar will be hosting a Christmas Libations: A festive dinner of fellowship and fraternity that also has special components of remembrance and rejoicing in it.
A key component of the Libation ceremony is tributing our fallen Sir Knights and Brothers as well as convey the well-wishes and greetings of our state’s Masonic leaders.
The event starts at 7 pm and all Masons and their guests — as well as non-Masons — are invited. The menu for the sumptuous dinner feast includes: stuffed chicken breasts, sliced roast beef, mostocholli, green beans & corn, 7-layer salad, garlic mashed potatoes, snickerdoodle salad, rolls & butter and assorted beverages.
Cost is $20 per person and reservations are needed by THIS Wednesday, December 15th. Please let Generalissimo, Jim Tome, know at firstname.lastname@example.org, by telephone at 815-508-3878 or tell him in person when you see him (like at Lodge tomorrow night).
Brothers, this is a very special event that is rarely experienced. If you’re looking for some true Christmas cheer and are wondering what more the York Rite part of Masonry — and the Knights Templar in particular — have to offer, come join us for dinner and festivities.
