Worshipful Master in Vermont
Greetings Brothers, from Vermont!

Masonic Temple in Burlington, Vermont at the "top" of Church Street. A truly impressive building. Too bad it's no longer used by any Masonic body.
I’m here with my family for our annual trip out to the “homeland” (OK, my wife’s, anyway!) and I’ve good things to report. We had brunch on Sunday with Geoff Grove, the Worshipful Master of Burlington Lodge No. 100.
The Worshipful Master and his wife, Stacy, took us to Souza’s Brazilian Churascuria, a steakhouse who’s head chef is Wor. Bro. Grove’s Senior Steward (and his brother is the Junior Steward) — I offered Chef Kelly Dietrich a permanent spot as Junior Warden of DeKalb Lodge, as long as he cooks as wonderfully as he did that day!
Wor. Bro. Grove tells me his Lodge is doing well. They have many younger members, though are seeing some of the older ones return as well. They are having trouble making rent at the Temple their located at, so they are considering a move in the coming year. They host many social activities for their membership, including Bingo Nights and themed dinner-dances. Many thanks to Worshipful Master Geoff Grove and his wife — we had a fabulous brunch and didn’t eat again until dinner!
Tomorrow (Wednesday), I have planned a coffee and Temple visit with Sandy Karstens, Excellent High Priest of Burlington Chapter No. 3 R.A.M. How cool is that?
I encourage all Masons from our Lodge to visit other Masonic organizations when they are out of state or elsewhere. All I did was look-up online what Lodges, Chapters, etc. were near where we were going and sent out an e-mail to the Worshipful, High Priest, etc. I also e-mailed the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the State of Vermont, who hooked me up with some local Masons.
Reporting from the Green Mountain State,
Jim Tome
