DeKalb Chapter Officers Visit Another Local Lodge

Companions Jim Tome, the new Excellent High Priest, and Jack Chasteen, Secretary and Area Coordinator of the Grand Chapter, both officers of DeKalb Chapter No. 52, Royal Arch Masonry, visited Horicon Lodge No. 244 in Rochelle this past week.

Worshipful Master Paul Williams was awarded a certificate of recognition and appreciation from the Grand Chapter of the State of Illinois and both Companion Tome and Chasteen encouraged Brothers at Horicon to visit and join our Chapter.

To our surprise, we discovered Brothers Rich Spahn, Greg Spahn and Bud Elkin in attendance at Horicon (all are members of that Lodge as well as DeKalb Chapter No. 52) — Companion Chasteen remarked later that we actually had enough Companions present to hold our own Chapter meeting!

We were pleased at the warm reception and it seems we may actually have stirred some interest — at least two Brothers asked about meeting dates and times for Chapter and Commandery! Expect to see DeKalb Chapter officers and Companions visiting more local Lodges, including Genoa, Elburn and Shabonna over the summer.
